Planning approval has been granted for a new health and wellness centre at Bradfield College. The building sits within the Bradfield Conservation Area on the site of an existing bungalow. The new centre will play an important role in the overall pastoral care of pupils at the College.
The existing medical centre is located some distance from the majority of boarding houses and was not purpose-built for healthcare. The new-build centre provides a number of flexible spaces, providing areas for clinical needs but also supporting other aspects of wellbeing such as counselling and physiotherapy.
Sustainable features are designed into the building including air source heat pumps, u-values which exceed building regulations requirements, triple glazed windows, a living green wall and green roof.
