The Rutherford Building classroom block at Stewart’s Melville College in Edinburgh, designed and built by squiresandbrown architects, offers a modern and functional educational space for the boys school. As part of Erskine Stewart’s Melville Schools (ESMS), one of the largest family of independent schools in Europe, this project represents an important step in their continued growth and development as an institution.
The two-storey classroom block boasts a gross internal floor area of 1,832 m2 and includes four spacious classrooms, meeting rooms, storage spaces, circulation areas, toilets, and showers. These facilities were designed with the specific needs of the school in mind, ensuring that the space is both functional and inspiring for students and staff alike.
